Paper nor plastic
Just say no to plastic bags, says Roy Paver, who is running a single-handed campaign to change the county’s shopping habits.
Roy has got together enough money to hand out environmentally friendly re-usable shopping bags, and was giving them out free outside the Kingsteignton Tesco. He’s looking for more funding to provide more bags.
He got his idea from the Australians and the Irish who have put a price on the head of each plastic bag at the checkout.
Let’s hope he bags the cash and leads the way to better shopping practice.
