Tickled by the White Feathers
August 14th, 2006

The White Feather Festie at Ashprington, by the Dart, this weekend had a really chilled-out scene, with all profits going to the Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK).
Good value at £20 for a camping ticket and plenty for all ages from willow fairy making (don’t ask!) to a big healing field, an acoustic tent and on the Saturday main stage enertainment.
Lot’s of nice things to nibble on too. Alan, our man with the camera, was wowed by Bristol’s Funkinsteins, singing their praises: ‘I loved their power rock, huge stage presence - in all senses - and Hendrix-inspired incendiary style playing.
‘They certainly let rip. I’m not a fan of soul-funk, but this trio added a secret ingredient. I think their live sound will gain them a big following.
‘And as a site and festival, this is just one of those places where people seem a whole bundle nicer than at your average rock gathering. Well done to Farmer Bob and the organisers.’

Thank you Alan
