Peak practice

Citizens of the People’s Republic will probably wanna check out a free screening of The Power of Community – How Cuba Survived Peak Oil tomorrow in Plymouth.

The film documents Cuba’s emergency transition to local organic agriculture, renewable energy, and large-scale mass transit. The transition occurred following the Soviet collapse in 1990, when their massive subsidies of imported oil and food to Cuba were halted.

Flip over to D+CFilm for all the gory details and to see a clip of Megan Quinn of The Community Solution talking about the film.
