Tinder is the night

Seems like there’s a massive demand for wood-fired heating in the region. No sooner have Regen SW (with support from the RDA – that covers the sponsorship) start its bio-heat programme than it has been approached by more than 80 projects who need some help.

Their press release said: ‘The response suggests that the region could increase the amount of wood heating four fold in the next year, and cement its record as the leading English region for renewable heat.’ (Shame about the use of cement tho’.)

Their chief exec, Matthew Spencer said: ‘Wood heating has grown up. It’s now an attractive option for large buildings, and is often the cheapest form of renewable energy available. The huge response we have had suggests that the South West is about to take a leap forward in its use of green heat.

‘This boost for biomass will be good for the economy, create incentives for the active management of our native woodlands, and will reduce the region’s impact on climate change.’

Wonder what the house builders think of that? Stay tuned for more you good, good people.
