Wood workers

Grascott Farm, and we guess the forest, near Beaworthy, and the Neroche scheme in the Blackdown Hills are included in the Forestry Commission’s new Strategy for England Trees, Woods and Forest.

Apparently, planting more trees is a ‘good thing’ for the future. They help fight carbon emissions, and offer natural habitats to shore against the impact climate change will have on flora and fauna. We’re not even going to talk about the whole spiritual impact of trees, or the education, or the health and well-being associated with woodland. And there are surely economic benefits associated with sustainable, managed forests.

But, surely all this is old hat, why a new scheme? Maybe they just didn’t see it.
