You can’t say the Liberal Democrats don’t take Europe seriously - they’ve already chosen their South West candidates for the 2009 European election (that’s for MEPs, in case you were wondering). And they are, in list of preference: Graham Watson; Kay Barnard; Robin Teverson; Jusine McGuinness; Humphrey Temperley and Paul Massey.
Graham Watson, your very own Lib Dem MEP is also the leader of all the Lib Dems in the European Parliament, and that’s not a little achievement.
If any other political party wants to let us know what they’re up to, we shall pass it on. At the moment most of them feel they belong to a little club and they don’t need to tell our nearly 40,000 readership what they’re up to. Now that’s what we call democratic accountability.
