Even before the first frost fell on the moor, Help the Aged has been warning about the threat of the cold. The organisation’s Winter Deaths campaign says each year more than 25,000 older people lose their lives to a preventable cold-related illness.
Now nPower has announced its increases to energy costs, and the threat then has probably increased. On its site Help the Aged has tips for keeping warm and claiming any benefits that are out there for those who feel the cold. Pass the details on to your friends, family and neighbours who may be worrying and suffering.
