The poor are paying

The beauty of the Devon can often belie the pockets of poverty. And poverty costs. Here’s the link the report in the Guardian about how being poor has that extra price. The extra charges for metered utilities is just one of the issues. It used to be called the poverty trap, but maybe we should think of it more as a black hole.

For an ethical Gas and Electricity supply try http://www.ebico.co.uk/ with EquiGas and EquiPower. You pay the same amountwhether you’re direct debit or metered, with the “richer” direct debit payers essentially subsidising the meter payers. And as it’s a not for profit company, it’s also a very competitive rate for all customers. If you’re into ethical choices or don’t like giving big behomoth companies you’re hard earned cash to pay themselves bonuses, i’d recommend you take a look. And i apologise if it’s not polite to post company websites - i’m not connected in anyway to them. I just think they need to be advertised more.
