‘Eco-safe’ driving tips are on offer by Devon County Council.
As well as cutting the price at the pump, ‘eco-safe’ driving reduces C02 emissions – a 10 per cent reduction in fuel consumption leads to a saving in Devon of around 150,000 tonnes of CO2, according to the press release.
And how do they achieve such petro-trickery? (Our guess is a brick in the cistern.) All you have to do is watch the ecodriving film to find out. Download it from the Eco-Driving film page. If you don’t have computer… errr, there are other ways.
We don’t want to spoil your fun, but ‘the advice relates to smooth gear changing, braking and acceleration, anticipation of road hazards, tyre pressures and awareness of other road users’ behaviour’.
Drat. We’re still on the bus then.
