Devon County Council Customer Care Line has been commended in the annual awards by the prestigious Municipal Journal, possibly the country’s leading local government magazine…
The My Devon Customer Service Centre, based in Tiverton, was unveiled nearly two years ago with a handful of services including Care Direct, aimed at helping provide information and help to older people, and a single number for all library services. The centre offers help and advice on a huge range of council services including roads and transport, children and families, schools and education and recycling and waste.
The centre is also home to a specialist Disability Information Service run in association with the voluntary sector to give help, care and support for disabled people.
Callers now get the help or advice they need for the price of a local rate phone call.
The service runs weekdays 8am to 8pm and Saturdays 9am to 1pm. People can also contact the centre by text phone and text message.
