Fittingly for a group entitled TAAG (that’s Teignmouth Arts Advisory Group, to the uninitiated) they have organised an artists’ speed networking event at the Carlton Theatre, Teignmouth, tomorrow (Tuesday, April 15) between 7pm and 9pm.
This is what the blurb says: “This is a chance to meet new contacts, promote your artistic practice, find new customers, network among other similar people and perhaps even find contacts for future artistic collaborations.”
Please don’t get it confused with speed dating, but do wear clean pants, just in case you end up being ‘it’. Well, that’s what you get with TAAG.

It’s not often that our presence is essential to proceedings, but that’s exactly what Artdept’s invite to their ‘Artopsy I’ event said. Hosted by the gallery at Dartington College of Arts, the private view takes place tonight from 7pm to 9pm.
Have a look at flyer and work out if you’re up for being a VIP.

‘If you can read this, thank a teacher’ was a favourite car bumper sticker during the trouble teachers strikes – who would have thought that the last time those wisdom wranglers walked out was 21 years ago.
On April 24, the NUT will hold a day of industrial action over a pay settlement which pins them back below inflation at 2.45 per cent this year and 2.3 per cent for each of the following two years. Currently the retail prices index is just over 4 per cent.
Parsimonious MPs will probably point to their own pay rise of 1.9 per cent, lest we forget that these arbiters of all that is good curbed their own 10 per cent tendancies on their £60,000 plus pay (let alone the expenses and allowances).
The NUT’s day of action will act as a tribute to Steve Sinnott, NUT General Secretary who died suddenly aged 56 at the beginning of the month.
There will be a strike event at Exeter St James Park (Exeter FC) 11.30am on April 24.
