Book review - Broken
July 10th, 2008
Sarah Clarke of The Torbay Bookshop reviews the latest releases.

In Broken, Karin Fossum has created a clever and engrossing novel, blending fiction and reality. A writer wakes one night to find a prospective character standing by her bedside begging her to start his story as her next project. She creates him, an unassuming man who works in an art gallery whose life is totally disrupted when a young heroin addict walks in and he gives her a cup of coffee. His life disintegrates totally with her demands. The whole story is quietly chilling and full of suspense.
Broken, Karin Fossum, Harvill Secker, £12.99, 9781846552113
