<description>Just come back from Oddfest and the bands were really good, so well done to all. It's great to know that there's so much up-and-coming talent in the Bay. However, the only way we knew about it was through the People's Republic site. We saw nothing in the Press and no posters. Amazingly we did speak to one of the Torbay Council staff on duty who said - we kid you not - that "It wasn't advertised in case it encouraged a lot of people to turn up"! We know that Torbay Council get a bit worked up about combinations of young people, popular music and beaches -and with no involvement of Agatha Christie - but local bands do deserve more support. So congratulations to all involved and for the People's Republic for breaking the news embargo,
