PRSD up for Torbay arts award

posted by Cptn

Huzzah! The PRSD has been nominated for a Torbay Arts Base award.

The awards are a celebration of creative achievement from the south Devon crew and we share the shortlist for the literature prize with poet William Oxley and poet and historian Ian Handford.

Among other finalists are people and events we’ve covered, including the Torquay Fringe, the Great Create, and Anna Keleher to name but a few. And there’s certainly an impetus to cover the rest of the Bay creatives.

Lee Morgan, of the People’s Republic of South Devon, told, err, us: “It was an unexpected joy to see the shortlist for Torbay Arts Base award. Looking down the list of finalists it’s clear to see the breadth and depth of creative activity throughout the Bay area, and it’s great to be able to report on it and be part of it. Events like this help raise the profile of the work that’s going on and draw together the community.”

Well, that’s quite enough gushing from him. The award ceremony takes place on Friday September 26 at Oldway, Paignton. And, of course, we will be there and bring you all the news in the interim.
