Local Democracy Week in Devon

Teignbridge MP Richard Younger-Ross
Next week, if you didn’t know, is local democracy week - they keep that under wraps, ehh? And to celebrate the openness, accessibility and accountability of our representatives, Devon libraries are running a series of question and answer session with some Devon MPs.
That local democracy week runs from October 6 to 17 or that the billed Question Time-style events, according to the press release, only has one panel member, seems to have passed most people by.
Nevertheless, the MPs will get to hear from the younger community about their concerns, issues and ideas - and anyone between 13 and 19 can get in for free.
The audience will be made up of representatives from the UK Youth Parliament and the Young People’s Shadow Executive, who already seem pretty engaged in the political process, and they’ll be asking questions on ‘health, housing and schools to leisure facilities, transport and crime’. Pupils from local high schools are also invited.
The events are:
Friday October 10 Exeter Central Library. 16.30 - 17.30 Ben Bradshaw MP
Friday October 17 Teignmouth Library 16.00 - 17.00 Richard Younger Ross
Friday October 17 October, Honiton Library 16.00 - 17.00 Angela Browning
To book a place contact the Young People’s Librarian.
