The politician who was the vanguard of South Devon’s UKIP odyssey, Graham Booth, has resigned. You may be wondering why, and you’re probably deeply concerned about your representation in the European Parliament, then read on…
There will be no by-election to fill the vacancy left by the out-going Booth, as the European Parliament election is based on a proportional representation list system. Instead the job of South West MEP goes to Trevor Colman, who was third on the UKIP list after Graham Booth and Roger Knapman.

Outgoing: Booth. Incoming: Kapman
But our collective disappointment need only be shortlived – there are European Elections between June 4 and 7 June 2009, so you’ve got your chance to vote for a real politician and a proper political party, whatever than might be.
