Airport sale funds nearly spent

posted by Cptn

Did you know that £48 million has been raised from the sale of Exeter Airport, and did you know that nearly all of it has been allocated already? Shucks.

That said, there’s still around £927,000 knocking around through individual councillors, who were allocated £25,000 each to spend on projects in their own area.

The remainder of the £48 million has gone on the Lynton and Lynmouth Hydro-Electrical scheme, which will use water from the River Lyn to generate electricity, £100,000 towards the redevelopment of Matthew Hall in Topsham and £2.5 million for a new sports hall at Teignmouth Community College.
