Antony Gormley, you know the sculptor who keeps popping up in various guises (Iron Man, Angel of the North and so on), is coming to the Bay next summer, with his Turner prize winning exhibition Field, and the organisers are calling for volunteers to help out, with some of the, er, organising?
According to the blub: “Field will entirely fill the Spanish Barn at Torre Abbey and will be open, free of charge, from June 27 to August 23.”
And: “A team of 20 volunteers will be needed to help install the work alongside the curators and Abbey staff, which will take five days. Provisionally, the installation is set for the week of June 8.”
If you’re interested, get in touch with anna.whithead@torbay.gov.uk, who will contact all those registered in the new year to explain how the volunteers will be chosen.
• Tune in tomorrow for Antony Gormley’s Field and the state of public art
