South Devon’s own dedicated arts-based community radio station, Soundart Radio launches its permanent frequency (102.5 fm) with a special radio festival. First Spark, which runs to from Saturday, January 31 to Sunday, February 8.
The station will cover the Totnes, Newton Abbot and Torbay area and won’t carry any on-air advertising.
Soundart told the PRSD: “We encourage everyone to explore and experiment with contemporary sound and radio, nurturing a sense of listening to one another.
“All kinds of people visit, to talk, play music and present radio shows. We leave the studio door open and the sounds of passing birds, conversations and traffic filter in to our broadcasts.
“We welcome enquiries from anyone with great ideas for programmes, whether they have any experience or not. Contact us to find out how to get involved and about the workshops and training we offer. ”
So, if you’re in bullish mood, you can walk past the studio talking loudly to get your own show and become the next, er, Jonathan Ross.
