Recycled art prize of £1,000 on the TRAIL: call for proposals

posted by Cptn

The TRAIL is gearing up to its fifth year of recycled art along the South Devon Coast, and is calling for artists to submit proposals that could win up to £1,000.

The TRAIL includes a site specific sculpture trail along the South Devon Coast, linking Shaldon, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren, as well as a gallery exhibition or two.

All work needs to be made from 70 per cent recycled materials to reflect recycling, landfill, water, waste concerns (including political or global issues), and it needs to reflect the site by using or harnessing the natural elements.

For this you’ll be in the mix for the £1,000 artist prize, the £500 people’s prize, or the £200 community ‘scrapart challenge’ prize (yup, community groups can enter, too).

The sculptures need to be in place by July 18, for the TRAIL sculpture trail, which takes place from July 19 to September 6.

The gallery exhibition is open from August 9 to September 6.
