House prices keep tumbling

House prices in the South West fell by ten per cent in December last year – 10.2 per to be exact, which is the same as the national average.

Shocking, perhaps, then even more shocking was the month-on-month rise of nearly nine per cent throughout 2007. Prices started to take a downturn in the middle of 2008, with October and November each chalking up falls of more than nine per cent.

With average earnings dropping, and the demand for rural homes falling throughout the region, maybe we’ll reach a state of affordable housing by de facto.
