What’s your opinion of the future of Torquay Town Hall? Now’s your chance to have have your say: online and in person.
The Assembly Hall plans, as part part of the bigger Community and Civic Hub project, are up for discussion with an online survey, where you can comment. Or you could let your views be known in person with members of the project team on Tuesday, February 24 (10am -7pm).
The main focus of the consultation is the use of the Assembly Hall, which is the community part of the proposed Civic Hub.
Torbay Council’s plans are to refurbish the Town Hall site, Electric House and Tor Hill House to create a Civic Hub with centralised services, a business centre and office accommodation. The Assembly would be the ‘community hub’ bit.
To formulate these plans, apparently ‘a number of small public discussion groups with members of the Torbay Viewpoint panel were held last year, which generated some good ideas with noticeable themes occurring.
‘Three different ideas were then developed further, all of which were deemed to be equally suitable but offering slightly different benefits.’
To take a gander at the architects interpretations of the plans, pop over to the council website. Or you could download the pdfs here of options 1 and option 2 and 3.
And if you can to comment on the online form.
If you have any questions about the project contact Tim Bacon, programme manager, on 01803 208985 or email tim.bacon@torbay.gov.uk
(If you would like to receive a batch of surveys and freepost envelopes, let him know.)
