Not Bad For A Girl: Guitar Hero… almost

Katie Marie‘s action packed week of gaming, painting and working. All in a week’s work for the singer/songwriter who’s Not Bad For A Girl

One thing I did learn this week, is not only am I rubbish at changing strings on a classical guitar, and painting window frames with super glossy paint, I am also rather rubbish at playing Guitar Hero 3! Something which I was rather gutted about, espcially as I was with a group of friends at the time who were all pretty excited about seeing me play it lol Oh well, I’ll just stick to Mario Kart Wii.

So what else have I been upto other than embarrising myself on Guitar Hero? Well, I’ve had to do what every musician on the planet fears doing more than anything else in the whole world – yes peeps, I’ve had to get a job, which under normal circumstances is a hideous thing to have to get, but when you’re a muso or a songwriter anything that takes us away from what we love doing is such a waste of time. But I’m happy to tell you that it’s only a temporary thing and I do have a rather nasty habit to feed called eating, which if I want to continue to do I need to have some spondoolies.

I also need to get more dosh together to pay for all the decorating and new posh new stuff for the studio, so far it’s all looking really great down there and I’ve finished off most of the bits and bobs in the live room, now it’s over to the recording room to do a spot of painting and such like.

So it’s all going well, except I’m having to paint and decorate when ever I get a spare five mins at the moment, so most of the time I’m having to paint either before and/or after work which can be slightly knackering. But I’m so excited about having a lovely freshly painted studio to hang out in so it’s all well worth it

Right! I’m off to grab a cuppa now and then I’m planning on organising a set list for a gig I’ve got at Bowden House in Totnes next week, it’s an acoustical type event which I think takes place actually inside the building in various rooms, should be a good night!
