Ems Coombes, an erstwhile reporter for the People’s Republic of South Devon, has launched her Strictly Collaborative theatre group for disabled and non-disabled youngsters, at the Barbican.
The launch event took place at the Barbican, Plymouth, where the group for those between 13 and 19 will be based, and was part of the How to Change the World in Seven Days.
Ems said: “This is difficult for young people with disabilities and it’s a shame able-bodied people aren’t benefiting from working with disabled people too.
“By the nature of their experiences, disabled people have something different to offer, which is being overlooked.”
If you want to get involved in the group as an actor, volunteer, fundraiser or sponsor, email Ems at ems_workshops@hotmail.co.uk or str...@live.co.uk
