Gale & Snowden, architects and mechanical engineers based in Exeter and Bideford, have been shortlisted for a National Civic Trust Award for their Oak Meadow sustainable housing development in South Molton.
The environmentally-friendly 35-home scheme was designed so that the buildings do not need to be heated unless the temperature outside drops below -3°C.
The firm’s David Gale said: “We really do need to make sure our buildings and landscapes have a minimal impact on our environment and be safe, healthy and uplifting places to live, work and play in.
“We are very proud that another one of our buildings has been nominated for such an important award.
“We will see what happens when we go to London next month for the awards ceremony with our fingers crossed.”
