Dartington gets £1.3 million for two years from Arts Council

Plaque or no plaque those busy bees in the rarefied atmosphere of Dartington have secured their Arts Council grant of £1.3 million for another two years.

With a new director of arts and a pocket full of cash, Dartington Plus can afford to feel smug and wax lyrical about the development of excellence of a partnership that includes The Dartington Hall Trust, University College Falmouth and King Edward VI Community College (KEVICC).

Although, when the principal of KEVICC, Stephen Jones, talks about it being a ‘D+ partnership’, we do have our reservations – surely you’d expect straight As for that kinda money?

And what will they spend the lucre on? Creating new work in music, theatre and dance – and supporting emerging talent in the gap between education and a career in the arts. All good stuff.
