Energy efficiency in a nursery is child’s play, right? There’s a chance to win a £15,000 energy efficient renovation for nurseries in the Project: Renovate 2009 competition.
Three winners will environmentally-bag up to £15,000 each, and the ten runners-up get £1,000. And the winning nurseries will also get to spend the day with Bob the Builder at a fun day to celebrate the unveiling of the renovations.
To give you an idea of what to go for, last year’s winning nursery, Convent of Mercy Nursery, put forward a ‘comprehensive and lively submission that included recycling bins, knowledge trees and hand painted wall displays’.
Principal, Sinead Donaghue, said: “This initiative has been the perfect way of reiterating to the children vital environmental messages in a fun and cost-effective way. I encourage all nurseries to get involved this year’s project – it’s not only great fun but we are already enjoying the benefits from our renovation.”
