Torbay Bookshop April signings begin with Luisa Plaja and end with Paddy Ashdown

The much acclaimed, and occasional book review provider for the People’s Republic of South Devon, the Torbay Bookshop is beginning a new season of signings tomorrow (Saturday) with the oft-lauded teenage fiction author Luisa Plaja, and seeing as the PRSD shares occasional office space with said writer, we feel duty bound to mention it. Plus she’s really rather good, to paraphrase queen of teenage chick lit Meg Cabot.

Luisa will be signing her latest teenage drama/comedy, Extreme Kissing (which is about two best friends struggling with risk-taking versus safety in their relationships in a so-called post-feminist world, plus snogging) at the Independent bookshop from 10.30am.

Other signings taking place at the store during April are: Bret Hawthorne with his new book Agatha Christie’s Devon on Saturday, April 4 at 10.30pm; Lee Pengelly with his Romantic South Devon Coast on Saturday, April 18 at 10.30pm. Brian Carter with A Black Fox Running on April 25. Culminating with Paddy Ashdown signing his autobiography A Fortunate Life at 4pm on Monday, April 27.
