£2 million extra to repair Devon’s roads
The severe winter weather left Devon’s roads in a terrible state, and the county council has agreed an extra £2 million to the £3 million that has already been spent, on top of the £700,000 on additional salting to go towards the estimated bill for winter damage of £11 million.
Tour de Devon
The Tour of Britain cycling event will wheel through Devon again this year, with Devon and Somerset working together to jointly host two stages on Thursday and Friday September 17 and 18. And although the dates have yet to be finalised, we know the race will pass through Axminster and Seaton on 18 September
Young Devon
Devon is a good place to be a youngster, according to a new report. Their grades are improving, they have more control over policies which shape their lives, and Children in Care have better prospects.
