We asked the Moor Poets to take a picture of what inspired them at noon on Sunday, June 21 and send it through to us with a few words. Here’s our first response from Susan Taylor, with an excerpt from Nanny Norrish and the Pixies.
She told the PRSD: “I was up on Dartmoor this morning and here is my inspirational photo and text, which is the excerpt from a longer narrative poem of mine.”
… if you would sit sometimes and let the sky enter the haven of your eyes – allow yourself to gasp at this Midsummer Day’s foxgloves. Each dawn, the dew works in the bells to perfect their original shape, each day the bees ripple soft bellies, exploring their insides, so all you must do is stand and stare. Let your nature bind you back to these surroundings.
