
Exeter MP and Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw, who is visiting the Exeter Northcott theatre today, said that “a deep strain of homophobia still exists on the Conservative benches”.
He was reacting to news that a new poll suggested gay people would vote Conservative in the next general election.
He told the BBC: “I hope that people in the lesbian, gay and transgender community will closely examine the Conservatives’ record on this and David Cameron’s record in particular, which is not good.”
And said: “A deep strain of homophobia still exists on the Conservative benches”.
