South Devon’s own teenage chicklit chickette Luisa Plaja will be in Newton Abbot’s Oxfam on Saturday, July 11 at 11.30am as part of Oxfam’s Bookfest.
In the interests of full disclosure, I need to mention that I share an office with said author, which is also how I know that she’ll be reading from one of her sparkly pink books about the trials and tribulations of girls growing up in a so-called post-feminist world… and snogging.
Apparently, Oxfam is the third largest bookshop in the UK – it has 130 specialist bookshops, and Bookfest, which runs until Saturday July 18, is an opportunity to donate and buy books while fighting poverty, can’t be bad. You may also pick up a hidden gem, or uncover future classics, eh Luisa?
