Wildspace Buckfastleigh, town centre community garden mosaic to be unveiled on July 24

Wildspace Buckfastleigh, the town centre community garden, has had a mosaic sign created for it by artist Shelley Wilcox.

The sign, which will be installed on Friday, July 24, has been made with families from town and shows children’s drawings of birds, bugs and flowers that are growing in the wildlife-friendly garden.

The garden, at the back of Buckfastleigh Town Hall, will be open for the afternoon, and if the weather is good there’ll be tea and cakes on the lawn from 1pm, with the official opening of the mosaic from 1.30pm

Everyone is can get involved and workshops and events this year have included making hazel chairs, and designing and creating the mosaic. And there are voluntary garden days, children’s crafts and music, den building, wildlife habitat creating and tree planting.

The groups is now fundraising for a new gate that will allow public access to the garden at all times.

Anyone who would like to find out more can go along on the day or contact Lucinda on 01364 644556.
