The Sewing for Peace exhibition, which brings together the hundreds of textile panels create for the Sewing for Peace project for International Women’s Day, is open to the public at the Devon Records Office, Great moor House until September 4.
The Sewing for Peace project was led by artist Nicci Wonnacott, and started off as an attempt to bring together women from Devon, but become an international project.
The women who were fiddling with thread from all walks of life, included a group of women from Israel and Palestine, who came together to give a symbol of hope and peace for their cities.

Nicci Wonnacott told the PRSD: “While working on Sewing for Peace we have connected with women from many nations and all social situations – in creating the work there are no barriers.”
The start of the show also marked the launch of the Exeter Phoenix’s new International Women’s Arts programme.
