Equality South West is looking for volunteers to take part in the region’s largest survey on sexual orientation and gender identity.
The charity will be carrying out the ambitious project early next year and is currently searching for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGB&T) individuals and groups to help them out.
Equality South West’s Katie Pratt told the PRSD: “We’ll be distributing the survey in doctors’ surgeries, libraries, leisure centres and other public buildings to get the biggest response we can.
“But what we’re really after is LGB&T groups so they can share their collective experiences. We know, for example, there are lesbian walking groups and gay darts teams in the region, and we’re hoping to find even more similar groups willing to take part.
“This is a great opportunity for LGB&T people to have their voice heard on all sorts of issues, such as education, homophobia in the workplace, self-harming and what it’s like to be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender living in rural parts of our region.
“We want to use the results to improve life for LGB&T people in the South West, and to do that we need as many people as we can to take part.”
If you would like to take part in the survey, or find out more about South West’s LGB&T networks, email abbie.pepperell@equalitysouthwest.org.uk
