
There’s an energy saving push on at the moment, especially with the onset of winter, with council projects like Warm 4 Winter, Cosy Devon, Devon Warm Zone scheme out there to ensure our homes are insulated, offering low-income households free and discounted consultations and insulation.
Visitors to The Pannier Market in Tiverton on Friday, October 16 can find out how to reduce energy wastage in the home to keep fuel bills down and pick up free energy-saving light bulbs (max two per person) as well as getting general energy-saving advice from Cosy Devon and Mid Devon District Council.
We got in touch with Teignbridge District Council to find out more about their Warm for Winter scheme, being implemented in that area by Miller Pattison, who was working with Nationwide Insulation Grants, which has a team of surveyors able to carry out free no-obligation insulation surveys.
What checks are there in place to ensure good customer service?
“Technical Monitoring Officers check a random selection of their work to ensure it is all fine, and customers are welcome to view the existing insulation themselves and/or contact the council if they have any concerns. Miller Pattison have a good track record as a reputable company,” said the district’s press office.

Roughly speaking, to qualify for these schemes you need to be in receipt of benefits, on low income (annual income below £18K), or aged over 65 years old. Check out each specific scheme for more details.
