Plymouth protest at the BNP on the BBC. Should the racists be on telly?

A racist body with fascist roots, which illegally limits membership – the BNP – is all set to appear on the BBC’s Question Time. If you think this is a bit ‘urgh’ (or stronger), and you’re in Plymouth tomorrow (Thursday, October 2), you might want to join a demonstration outside the BBC studios, Mannamead at 5pm.

Opinions are split as to whether the BNP’s leader, Nick Griffin, should appear on the show. Even here in the PRSD offices there are those who think putting the racist on telly will expose their lies.

There are others who think that racist organisations shouldn’t be given any credibility. (We doubt whether the BNP would pass our editorial standards to appear on the PRSD, but I doubt we’ll have chance to test that.)

• Daily Mail column Richard Littlejohn doesn’t think they should be on, what do you reckon? Comments below, please
