The South Devon film festival, View from Here, opens with a free family animation day in Newton Abbot. Sounds good fun, especially as ‘anybody can make animation and you can animate almost anything’ according to Lucy Jackson of Creative Workshops for Children on D+CFilm, who will be leading the event.
People will be able to sample all kinds of animation techniques, including simple drawings in flickbooks and zoetropes and praxinascopes, as well as stop motion animation, and the end result will be put together for the world to see on Youtube.
All you need is a little patience and imagination.
Go over to our film site D+CFilm to read the full Q&A.
And pop along to the View from Here site to find out what’s in store for the week of films in South Devon, from Saturday, November 28 to Friday, December 4.
