Green Party one and two in Totnes byelections

The Green Party are celebrating a one and two at the Totnes byelections for the Totnes Town Council and the South Hams District Council.

The South Devon Green Party’s Alan Gorman won at seat on Totnes Town Council for Bridgetown, with 53 per cent of the vote (that 419 of the burghers of Bridgetown).

According to the Greens, Alan pledged to campaign for litter-free open spaces, to lobby for improved access to Bridgetown Community Hall and support local services, youth facilities, and youth facilities, and vulnerable members of society.

The district council election, which took place on the same day, saw Lib Dem Mike Hannaford being elected with 522 votes, with the Green Party’s Jacqi Hodgson picking up 265 votes.
