“… and then moan the loudest when it is too late to change a thing!” Says our Comment of the Week from Frankie Dolan on the “Is there such a thing as too much campaigning? South West Devon candidate gets feedback” story.
Frankie set up and runs the EcoIvy website, which was set up to raise awareness of Viridor’s plans for an incinerator two miles from Ivybridge. And the comment was on the feedback Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Luke Pollard received from one of his leafleting campaigns.
The question is age-old – how do you engage the disaffected? Comments below, please.
• Public meeting in Ivybridge about the incinerator plans, takes place at Chapel Place (the old town hall) Ivybridge on Saturday, November 21 at 2pm (Viridor can’t make it.)

Silly question: should I know who Frankie Dolan is? Or is he just some dejected labour party worker? Most likely. All I need to say is that change is a good thing. A breath of fresh air. I can’t wait for the next election. It should be the hotest for the for many a year, and may well end up with a hung house of commons. Labour and Tory will then have to sit down and talk. Now that can not be a bad thing for this lands politiks!
Well first of all, Frankie is a woman not a man
And I’m no politician – actually my real interest is health, not politics (I also created MedWorm.com, which is my real passion).
I fell out with the Labour Party when Tony Blair took us into the Iraq war.
I still haven’t forgiven them, but I got in touch with Luke because I like what he is doing – even if I don’t support the Labour Party. I hope Luke does well and progresses up the Labour Party ranks because I figure all political parties need more people like him to help make politics something that actually represents the people, rather than a bunch of people thinking they know what is best and taking decisions on their behalf without any real consultation.
I personally prefer a non-partisan approach and I think we would be better without any political parties at all, with everyone working together rather than arguing just to win some power – but then I guess I am a dreamer too!
