Green Party picks Corinne Lindsey as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Newton Abbot

Corinne Lindsey has been selected to stand as the Green Party Candidate in the Newton Abbot Constituency

The nurse, who lives in Newton Abbot with her three children said: “I am standing because I want the electorate to be able to choose someone who experiences ‘ordinary’ life, who is motivated by a desire to see real improvements for everybody’s lives, both locally and countrywide, and who is certainly not a career politician.

“I believe the Green Party is the only party which has the imagination to offer a viable alternative which takes seriously the economic, social and environmental challenges we face.

“The Green Party understands that economics is about common good and fairness rather than individual and corporate greed and that inhabiting a planet with finite resources and waste tolerance means unsustainable growth is an economic mythology.

“Like many others I’m fed up of hearing politicians blame people for the problems they themselves have created, it’s time to stand up to vested interests. A vote for the Green Party is a vote to ensure that people, the communities and the environment on which they depend, come first.”
