Question Time style for Exeter City Council debate for new-look Community Forum

The Question Time stylee seems all the rage. Not only are Dartington Debates using the format to discuss the difficult issues of the day, but Exeter City Council will be using it to connect to its public in its new-look Community Forum at the Guildhall on Tuesday, December 8 at 2.30pm.

Exeter residents will be invited to put questions about the city council to a panel of politicians, including the council leader, Adrian Fullam and leaders of the other political groups on the council.

Residents are also being invited to submit their questions in advance.

Chief executive Philip Bostock told the PRSD: “By giving people a chance to submit their questions in advance we should be able to give them a more satisfactory answer, rather than having to get back to them at a later date. Hopefully this will make things more interesting and allow us to answer more questions.”

Questions can be submitted by completing the online form or in writing to Freepost EX523, Exeter City Council, Civic Centre, Paris Street, Exeter, EX1 1JN. No stamp is needed.

• Will a TV format connect with the people? Comments below, please.
