UPDATE: The staff training aid is a till point training card. "The training card is designed to make shop staff ‘think twice’ before handing out bags automatically," the terribly nice chap at Teignbridge press office informs up.

And the stickers are for people who forget their bags to act as a reminder.

The Teign Estuary Transition Group will also be distributing their newly designed reusable cotton bag for Teignmouth, the perfect carrier for all that Christmas shopping. The winner of the ‘design-a-bag for Teignmouth’ competition will be announced and awarded their prize at the event and other competition entries will be on show.

In addition Margaret Baumgartner, a representative of the 'MorsBags' international movement, will also be present with her sewing machines, making reusable bags from old unwanted textiles to give away to the public.

we will keep you up-to-date with any more developments

If you don’t want to forget your reusables. Here’s some tips on training yourself to say “no” to paper or plastic and making a habit of using your own bags:
• Every time you come home from shopping, make it a habit to unload your groceries and immediately put your bags back in your vehicle or hang them on your door knob. Don’t wait – you’ll forget.
• Set an alarm on your mobile phone or PDA to remind yourself not to forget. Or cover your dashboard, rear view mirror, hatch back and gear shift with post-it reminders.
• If you make a grocery list before you go shopping, add “Remember Your Bags” to the top of your list.
