With Christmas just a week away Katie Marie has a suggestion for a must-have gift that will make anyone’s stocking a happier place. Can you guess what it is?
Are you all set and ready for Crimbo? I think it’s safe to say that no matter where you are in your preparations you’ll be a lot further on that me!! It’s suddenly dawned on me that Christmas day is NEXT WEEK and I’ve not bought any pressies yet, never mind dug out the tree from the loft!
So if you’re struggling to know what on earth to get your loved one this Christmas I might just have the perfect solution – it is of course… a Katie Marie CD!! Yes peeps, my new album (To The Journey) is finally here and available to buy from my website!! Yay! You’ll also be able to purchase it from CDBaby very soon, will let ya know when they’ve finished setting things up.
I’m pretty pleased with the way this CD has turned out, there’s a real mixture of tunes on there from funk to mellow to acoustic. Plus there’s a little booklet inside that features lots of photos of me growing up, which usually provokes a giggle or two!
I’ve also uploaded a track called Who Told You from this album to my MySpace page, so check it out and see what ya think!
So what are my plans for next year? Well as usual I’ve got a million and one things I want to try my bestest to get sorted lol Apart from the usual big gig wishes I’m planning to record a really acoustic sounding EP with the main emphasis being on my voice and guitar (similar to when I play live) and hopefully by then I’ll have my new Cajon (yipeeee!!) which I’ll be able to incorporate into a few tunes. Looking forward to getting stuck into that.
I also have to finish off my TV tunes by the end of January 2010, so far I’ve done blues, reggae, rumba, march and jazz – only another 15 more to go!! lol
Another thing happening next year is that Elli (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm8FbM1K47s) will be paying me a visit and playing a few gigs over here! (Which will be amazing!) I’ve already got us a date for the Barrel House, will letcha know what else I get sorted.
I’m also very excited to be popping back over to Germany to play a couple of dates in April, I’ll be playing a gig with Elli on a beach (I know, sounds very kewl!) and then playing at a venue I’ve gigged at a couple of times before called Cafe Sarah which is in Stuttgart – happy days!
Talking of gigs, thanks a lot if you’ve popped down to The Cider Press Cafe (formerly More Restaurant) the past two Wednesdays, it’s been so lovely to be back there playing and I’ve got my last gig of 2009 there this Wednesday (December 23) so pop along and grab a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie! Would be lovely to see you as always…
Anyways I’ve got loads of *really* boring grown up work to do (going through receipts, it doesn’t get much worse than that!) and then I’ll be in the studio writing more wierd and wonderful TV tunes (Ahhhh, that’s better!).
