Teignmouth’s traditional Boxing Day dip in the sea is again organised by the RNLI, hoping to top last year’s total of 175 who braved the icy waters (with 2,000 watching from the shore).
Registration is at 1o.30am and Teignbridge MP Richard Younger-Ross will judged the fancy dress competition at 10.45am, with the plunge itself taking place at 11am.
If you’re made of stern stuff, you can pick up sponsorship forms from Fairweather News and the Relish Cafe in Northumberland Place, Teignmouth, the lifeboat shop on The Point and the tourist information centre on The Devon. And on the day, forms can be completed on the RNLI stand near the pier.
Roger Hawkins from the RNLI fundraising team said: ” Everybody is welcome, and in addition to fancy dress prizes, there will also be trophies for the most raised, the youngest entrant and the longest distance travelled to take part.”
