With no New Year’s Eve gig to play in 10 years, Katie Marie looks over the highlights of the year, and wonders if she’s kept her all her last New Year’s Resolutions

Hope you had a wonderful Crimbo, what did you get up to? I did *absolutly* nothing and it was soooooo wonderful.
On Christmas day I got to hang out with my folks and it was all a pretty chilled out affair. Then for the next few days my partner and I sat in the lounge stuffing our faces on various lovely food and watching film after film after film, it was great!
Tonight will be the first time I’ve not gigged on New Year’s Eve in 10 years! It’s going to be a wierd one indeed… what do you do? I honestly can’t remember the last time I didn’t gig on NYE, or what I did! lol I’m sure I’ll find something to keep me out of trouble, but it does feel really *really* strange not to be out gigging somewhere!
My highlights of 2009? Blimey there are sooo many! I guess the biggest highlight for me was the last Germany Tour with Elli, which was so much fun and I can’t wait to be back in Germany again in 2010! I also had a great Summer Season playing at More Restaurant (now the Cider Press Cafe) and I’m happy to report I’ll be back there again next year (yay!). Also this year I started playing drums for Dan Crisp, which has been lots of fun and such a pleasure for me as I’ve been a fan of Dan’s music for a while now.
And it was also a wonderful feeling to finally get my new album finished and out there! lol And while we’re on the subject, I have to say a BIG thank you to everyone who popped over to the CDBaby page where my CD is for sale and wrote lots of lovely reviews. I know you’ve been emailing to say they haven’t published them yet, but they look at all the things people write to make sure they’re not too horrible before printing them! lol But big, big thanks to you all – you’re all super stars!
So any New Year’s Resolutions? And if you made any for 2009 did you stick to them? I think I manage to stick to most of mine… which were eating more fruit (yep, I eat at least one piece of fruit a day!), cutting down on my tea drinking (I used to drink between six to eight cups a day and now I’m down to one to two!) and spending more time relaxing (ok gunna have to work on that one, but as Meatloaf famously said, two out of three ain’t bad!).
Anyways I really hope you have a wonderful night tonight, whether it’s sitting in front of the TV watching the count down or out on the town partying the night away – hope you enjoy it lots! And I wish you all the very best for 2010!
