Fun yourself fitting seems to be the message from Teignbridge District Council – a new range of quirkly excercise classes and activities are set to hit the leisure centres in the district.
Newton Abbot Leisure Centre will hold Zumba! A Latin inspired dance fitness class suitable for all. Each class is made up of a mixture of Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves for a calorie burning, body energising, confidence-inspiring workout.
Street Dance classes offer a chance to learn dance-exercise moves to the latest pop and chart hits and it’s not just for youngsters.
Broadmeadow Sports Centre is also offering street dance, alongside a six-week course in adult cheerleading.
For younger members of the family, Dawlish Leisure Centre has introduced new Saturday activities. This includes a Roller Disco, with professional DJ and lighting system, providing an energetic and exciting way to stay entertained.
Taking place every Saturday until Saturday, February 20, children aged 5-8 years are welcome between 2pm-3pm, with 8-11 year-olds welcome from 3pm-4pm each week, and will need to bring their own skates (£2 per session).
Meanwhile, there’s a new morning indoor football session for 8-11-year-olds, from 9am-10:30am every Saturday from just £2 per session (depending on membership).
More details on all exercise classes are available from the centres or online. Booking may be required, and fees (usually £2.50 – £3.85 per session) vary depending on membership status.
