Exeter Youth Against Racism re-launch with news that the BNP is to stand in city elections

Exeter Youth Against Racism in Europe is re-launching as a united front against the Exeter branch of the BNP.

A message on Facebook said: “Those who join ExYRE will be well aware of the BNP’s history and real character. Since they will be standing in the city on May 6, it is important that Exeter’s youth and students organize counter stalls, protests and awareness events, to understand the nature of British fascism, and more importantly how to fight it.”

If you’d like to join the group head on over to their Facebook presence, and if you’d like to get more involved, drop them a line.

Exeter Youth Against Racism in Europe has highlighted possible actions in the lead up to the General Elections, include inviting anti-fascist speakers to the city, organizing a Rock Against Racism music event, and holding a protest or demonstration on Exeter High Street.

They say: “None of this is possible if we don’t meet and discuss. If we don’t challenge them now, the BNP’s presence will become acceptable, and their activities legitimate.”
