Good luck Helen! More girl power to Ivybridge! And if you get any nasty anonymous emails from grumpy old men just ignore them, I did. If I was in the Filham ward I would be voting for you – because you are young and female and I believe Ivybridge could do with a shake up (and some opposition).

Sorry I still can’t forgive the Labour Party for the Iraq war, and the fact that it was their central policy that pushed the local government to opt for incineration in the first place – but I do think on a local level you would be good for Ivybridge so hope you do well.

Isn’t 62 the new 40!

We’re quite concerned about the narrow range of councillors, and aim to look into it – hopefully before the next election.

Helen,

I suggest you have a look at the Local Government association website (LGA); they did a census which shows that average councillor is a white male aged 62 so you are being complementary to call them middle-aged!! The statistics are also getting worse from the point of view of embracing diversity. Good luck!!
