Plymouth University students are promoting the purchase of fairly traded and ethically sourced stuff with their Ethical Threads Fashion Show on Thursday, March 11, from 7pm.
Formerly known at the Fairtrade Fashion Show, Ethical Threads takes place in the Student Union, aims to make you think about where your clothes come from while stimulate your style synapses to think vintage, organic cotton, recycled fabrics, Fairtrade and the ultimate in recycling, charity shop chic!
There will be a range of stalls selling clothing and other ethically sourced goods.
This year will also see a style challenge – sponsored by the Co-operative Membership for teams, or individuals, to get involved with – Pimp your Fairtrade White T-shirt! The event is open to the all and last year raised lots of money for Oxfam.
The Fashion Show will feature clothing from the following: Forty Five, Box, Faux Coutures, Surfers Against Sewage, Tea Appreciation Society, Nomads, Quail, and The Co-op Group.
Tickets cost £2 for students and concessions, and £3 for others. Entrance fee includes a free glass of Fairtrade wine or juice. Email volunteer@su.plymouth.ac.uk for details on where to buy tickets
